The 2016-2017 deer season was a blast. I didn’t bow hunt as much as I usually do, because this year was devoted to getting my daughter hooked up for her first hunting season.
As mentioned in other articles, she managed to take a hog (click here for article), her first buck (click here to view), and an even a 9 point to end the season (click here…I dare ya!).
I did manage to get a little hunting in with my 6.8 SPC. As mentioned in many prior articles, I’m a lover of the 6.8 SPC, so doing a little meat collecting with it makes me happier than a politician in a “misspeaking” contest.
Below is a video that I shot of a doe killed at 280 yards with the 6.8 SPC, and my 95 grain TTSX handloads. Enjoy.
Oh yeah, if you don’t like to see stuff die, then: #1, what are you doing reading an article about hunting? and #2, don’t watch a video of something dying! I don’t watch videos about flower arrangements! What’s wrong with you! As the ever-wise Forest Gump said, “And that’s about all I have to say about that.”

Nice 🙂 I’m hoping to get my first whitetail this fall. I got lots of Muley’s under my belt, but I would love to try some white tail.

Moose, Mushrooms and Mud, that’s great. I’m the opposite. I have a few whitetails, but no Muley’s. I’m sure you’ll seal the deal, and if not, I’ll trade you a whitetail for a mule deer!

Sounds like a plan 😉 It’s tough for whitetails around here as there are only pockets of them here and there. Most of the area around here is Muley Country. I need to do some more scouting before hunting season.

Can’t scout too much I guess. My heart goes pitter-patter when I hear “Muley Country.”
That’s something different for me that I’d love to learn. Sounds like you have enough determination to get it done with the whitetails. Good luck to ya, and I’ll enjoy following your blog in the meantime.
