According to foxnews.com, on Thurs May, 4, 2017, an attacker who entered the Zona Caliente Bar and Grill in Arlington, Texas, armed with a firearm.  According to reports the perpetrator shot and killed a man inside of the establishment.

The victim was reported by Police to be 37 year old Cesar Perez of Duncanville.

Police identified the perpetrator as 48 year old James Jones of Grand Prairie.

When Jones fatally shot Perez, one of the customers eating inside of the restaurant instructed his wife to take cover because he was preparing to draw his concealed weapon and defend the lives of his wife, the other patrons, and himself.

And that is exactly what the man did.  The heroic patron, who has yet to be identified by Arlington Police, drew his weapon, and fired at Jones.  After Jones was struck, he began “shooting at the front door” according to Christopher Cook, a spokesman for Arlington Police.

Cook went on to say that “[w]e know people were trying to escape, but we’re not sure if he was just trying to harm others.”

Police reported that Jones had the capacity to kill or harm many other people.  Police discovered two loaded firearms, and two knives on Jones.

Arlington Police’s spokesman Christopher Cook stated that the heroic customer “prevented further loss of life.”

I want for everyone reading this message to think about the following:

1.  What would have happened if the hero was not carrying a concealed weapon?
2.  How would you feel if you were in an establishment, and a deranged killer begins shooting or stabbing people & you had no means to protect yourself?  Would you be glad for a man like the hero in this case to step forward to defend you?
3.  How would you feel if your loved one were in that establishment with no means to protect themselves?

The only other reported injury were cuts by glass while someone was trying to escape.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Cesar Perez.

I’ll end this article with a quote from Alexander the Great “I’m not afraid of an army of lions led by a sheep; I am afraid of an army of sheep led by a lion.”

Our hero in this case was a lion.
